Change begins with an idea.
Beth Schuman is an experienced non-profit executive, fundraiser, educator and passionate public speaker. Her work focuses on international movement-building: at the intersection of environmental activism, human rights and peace-building.
At Points to Grace Consulting, Beth supports a number of non-profits and start-ups, guiding their growth and development, and training staff.
Beth founded American Friends of Combatants for Peace in 2016, and served as the organization’s first Executive Director until 2023. Under her leadership, Combatants for Peace grew its budget ten-fold and grew the Joint Memorial Day Ceremony from 1,500 attendees to become the annual largest peace event in the world, boasting of over 250,000 attendees annually. She guided Combatants for Peace’s development from a virtually unknown NGO to a 2x Nobel Peace Prize nominee - and an organization known throughout the world. She remains in close touch with the organization’s leadership, and currently sits on their Advisory Board.
Prior to working with Combatants for Peace, Beth lived in India for seven years, working for a poverty relief NGO. During this time, she helped write five books on personal transformation and spiritual upliftment. These books have been published in over a dozen languages, and sold throughout India, the United States, and Europe.
Beth has spoken at Universities across the United States including Yale, Columbia, and Mercy College. She has spoken on NPR, multiple podcasts, and on several local radio stations. Beth’s work has been honored by the Wespac Foundation, and she was personally honored by the United Nations Association, Westchester Chapter, for outstanding leadership.
